    The backstory.

I'll be honest-this slow cooker turkey recipe started as a "let's clean out the pantry" experiment. I had leftover stuffing mix from Thanksgiving and a turkey breast in the freezer that needed a purpose. One lazy Sunday, I tossed them in the crock pot, crossed my fingers, and came back hours later to the best-smelling kitchen ever. One bite and I knew this one was going to be a forever favorite.

    It's a must make.

If you love crockpot turkey and stuffing, this cozy classic checks all the boxes.

    • Effortless comfort food. Just mix, place turkey on top, and let the slow cooker do the rest-zero stress, all flavor.
    • Family-approved flavor. That buttery turkey stuffing combo gets rave reviews from everyone at my table.
    • Perfect for holidays-or any day. It's like a mini Thanksgiving dinner without the chaos (and dishes).

Turkey breast and stuffing crockpot ingredients

Here are the ingredients you'll need to make this easy turkey and stuffing crockpot recipe:

    • Stuffing mix: Use your favorite brand of chicken, herb, or turkey stuffing mix-this gives you the base for that rich, savory flavor.
    • Butter: Adds richness and helps keep the turkey moist as it slow cooks.
    • Chicken broth or water: Hot broth gives the stuffing the perfect soft texture; use low-sodium chicken stock if you like more control over saltiness.
    • Onion and celery: Classic aromatics that bring depth and that familiar holiday flavor.
    • Dried cranberries: A touch of sweetness that balances the savory stuffing perfectly.
    • Boneless turkey breast: Tender and juicy when slow-cooked; choose about 3 pounds for the best fit in your 5 to 6-quart slow cooker.
    • Seasonings: Poultry seasoning, kosher salt, and black pepper round everything out.

For exact ingredient quantities, please see the recipe card below!

    Customize it your own way.

Make this turkey breast and stuffing crockpot recipe your own:

    • Add chopped apples, mushrooms, or pecans for a fun texture twist.
    • Use cornbread stuffing mix for a Southern spin or herb stuffing for a classic flavor.
    • Swap the turkey breast for chicken.
    • Combine with a can of cream of chicken soup for a cozy casserole-style version.

    How to serve it.

Here's how to enjoy this crockpot turkey and stuffing:

    • Slice the turkey breast and serve it over the fluffy, buttery stuffing.
    • Drizzle with gravy or add a spoonful of cranberry sauce for that full Thanksgiving dinner flavor.
    • Pair with mashed potatoes, green beans, or slow cooker mac and cheese for the ultimate comfort meal.

    Kori's tips.

    • Always use a meat thermometer-slow cooker turkey should reach 165°F for food safety. For the juiciest turkey, remove it at 160°F and cover it with foil; it will continue to rise in temperature as it rests.
    • Fluff the stuffing before serving so it stays light and tender.
    • If the stuffing is too dry add a little extra broth.

    Notes

For more helpful hints, substitution ideas, slow cooking tips, and other delicious recipe ideas, check out my post above.
CROCKPOT COOKING TIP: Every slow cooker heats a little differently, so cooking times can vary. Once you know how your crock pot runs (hotter or cooler), you can adjust as needed. For meats and proteins, always use a thermometer to check doneness—the internal temperature is the most accurate way to know when it’s ready.
TIPS: Cook until the turkey reaches 165°F for food safety. Remove at 160°F and rest under foil for juicier meat. If the stuffing is too dry add a little extra broth. Fluff the stuffing before serving.
VARIATIONS: Use chicken instead of turkey, or add chopped apples, mushrooms, or pecans for texture. Try cornbread or herb stuffing mix for different flavor.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Slice the turkey and serve over the stuffing with gravy or cranberry sauce on the side.
