This cozy crockpot turkey and dressing recipe tastes like a mini Thanksgiving dinner—tender turkey and buttery stuffing with a hint of cranberry, all slow-cooked to perfection.
2(6-ounce)packages chicken, herb, or turkey stuffing mix
1cupchicken broth
5tablespoonsbutter, divided(melted)
⅔cupsfrozen chopped onion
⅔cupchopped celery
⅓cupdried cranberries
3poundboneless turkey breast
½teaspoonpoultry seasoning
½teaspoonkosher salt(plus extra to taste)
½teaspoonground black pepper(plus extra to taste)
Instructions
In the bottom of a greased slow coooker, spread the stuffing mix the stir in broth, 3 tablespoons of the butter, onion, celery, and dried cranberries until mixed well.
Using paper towels, pat the turkey breast dry. Rub 2 tablespoons of melted butter over the entire turkey, then sprinkle with poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Place the turkey over the stuffing mixture. Cover and cook on low 5 to 6 hours, or until the turkey is done (the USDA recommends 165℉). Remove the turkey and cover with foil. (Note: I cook my turkey until it reaches 160℉, then I remove it and cover it with foil. The temperature will continue to rise to 165℉ and will be juicier.)
Remove the turking and let stand covered with foil for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing. Stir the stuffing and fluff with a fork.

Once you know how your crock pot runs (hotter or cooler), you can adjust as needed. For meats and proteins, always use a thermometer to check doneness—the internal temperature is the most accurate way to know when it’s ready.TIPS: Cook until the turkey reaches 165°F for food safety. Remove at 160°F and rest under foil for juicier meat. If the stuffing is too dry add a little extra broth. Fluff the stuffing before serving.VARIATIONS: Use chicken instead of turkey, or add chopped apples, mushrooms, or pecans for texture. Try cornbread or herb stuffing mix for different flavor. SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Slice the turkey and serve over the stuffing with gravy or cranberry sauce on the side.
