- 1 orange orange (from that orange you will need ½ teaspoon orange zest + ¼ cup orange juice)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- pinch cayenne pepper
- 1 sprig fresh thyme (leaves removed and minced)
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Add carrots and water to the crockpot. Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours on low (2 to 3 hours on high), or until the carrots are tender.
- Drain carrots and return to the crockpot to keep warm.
- Add the remaining ingredients to a small saucepan. Stir together until melted.
