    About

Hello there! My name is Kori, and I’m the founder of Slow Cooked Eats. I'm also the recipe developer, photographer, videographer, and writer - the one who wears many hats!

    About Slow Cooked Eats

    The Beginning

Slow Cooked Eats was started in 2023 as a sister site to Seeking Good Eats, because I wanted to share my love of slow cooking - as well as my mass accumulation of recipes from years of crock pot cooking for my family and friends!

For over 20 years I have worked full-time and balanced that with a husband and the raising of three boys! It's a juggling act - and it's a lot. Since home-cooked family meals have always been a super huge priority in our house I had to get really creative! I never had time to stand over a stove or a fiddly appliance.

The crock pot was the number one go-to appliance that literally fed my family most weeknights! I would prep my meals on the weekends by assembling 4 to 5 crock pot meals and placing them in the fridge until the day I was ready to cook them!

    Our Audience

Today, Slow Cooked Eats is a space dedicated to easy, delicious, crock pot recipes that you’ll want to make time and time again!

My recipes are made with busy families in mind. Most of my recipes are flexible enough that your whole family can enjoy them.

    My Recipes

Because you and I are super busy people, my recipes are mostly (but not always):

    • Easy to Make
    • 10 ingredients or less
    • 30 minutes of prep time or less
    • Family-friendly

Every once in a blue moon, I will publish a recipe that you might be totally unfamiliar with or might appear to be more complicated than you're used to. We encourage you to get out of your comfort zone and try something new! It's fun to experiment with new recipes. When you have some free time on the weekends, challenge yourself with a fun and interesting new recipe. 😉

    About Kori

Here are some facts about me you might find interesting...

    From CFO to Food Blogger

Most people are surprised to learn that I am a former CFO and worked as an accountant for over 20 years. In fact, I have a Bachelor’s in Applied Human Sciences, a Masters in Business Administration, and a Masters Degree in Accounting. I must be either be a glutton for punishment, I really loved college, OR I had some serious ambition 😉

As most people inevitably ask, how did you go from Accounting to running a food blog?

Well, cooking has always been my real PASSION. I’ve always had a love of cooking which I believe I inherited all my cooking skills from my mother, grandmother, and aunts – the best cooks EVER!

I worked in several restaurants and did catering throughout high school and college, which provided me with valuable technical cooking knowledge.

In 2019 I decided to leave my accounting career and pursue the food blogging full-time and started Seeking Good Eats. With the combination of business and restaurant/catering experience, I felt prepared to run a successful web business all my own! The rest is history!

    Family and Farm Life

When I’m not busy blogging, I love hanging out with my family (husband and 3 boys) and 2 dogs. They make me feel so blessed.

I also love puttering around our small farm either in the garden or out in the field with our 3 donkeys, 2 goats, and 6 chickens. Yep. For real.

    Travel Travel...and More Travel

When I’m not at home, we are usually traveling. Our family does A LOT of traveling both internationally and within the US.

When traveling the U.S. you will find us in our RV. As a matter of fact, we love the RV Life so much that my husband and I recently started a sister site, Seeking The RV Life, so we could share our passion with other RVers! Check it out sometime!
