This swedish meatballs crockpot dish is hearty, homey, and oh-so-versatile!

    • Serve over buttered egg noodles or mashed potatoes for classic comfort.
    • Eat them as an appetizer and serve with toothpicks right out of the crockpot.
    • Spoon over rice or cauliflower rice for a gluten-free option.
    • Pair with steamed broccoli, green beans, or a crisp green salad.
    • Add lingonberry jam or cranberry sauce on the side for a traditional Swedish touch.

Meal idea! Serve your meatballs over noodles with a side of garlic green beans and a slice of crusty bread to soak up all that creamy sauce.

    Kori's tips.

    • Use very soft cream cheese-it melts smoother and blends easily into the sauce.
    • Don't skip the parsley! It adds a pop of freshness that balances the richness.
    • Double the batch and freeze leftovers for an easy future dinner.
    • Warm your sour cream slightly before adding to prevent curdling.

    Notes

For more helpful hints, substitution ideas, slow cooking tips, and other delicious recipe ideas, check out my post above.
TOP TIPS: Warm cream cheese slightly to help it melt. About 12 ounces of cooked noodles pairs perfectly with the sauce. Light cream cheese may be used. Use additional broth if the sauce is too thick or rich for your liking.
VARIATIONS: Swap the mushroom soup for cream of celery, or use browned fresh meatballs. Add Worcestershire or Dijon for a flavor boost.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Garnish with parsley or chives. Serve with green beans, broccoli, or a green salad for a complete meal. These also make a great appetizer served straight out of the crockpot with some toothpicks.
