    The backstory.

I made these buffalo chicken sliders the first time for a game night when everyone was craving wings, but I refused to deep-fry or babysit a skillet. I tossed chicken, hot sauce, and ranch in the slow cooker before running errands, came back to perfectly shred-ready meat, and piled it on soft rolls with a quick oven melt. It's my favorite low-effort party trick: set out pickles, celery slaw, and ranch or blue cheese so people can build their own, and keep the pot on Warm so late arrivals still get steamy, saucy sliders. Perfect for tailgates, potlucks, or a cozy night in when you want wing flavor without the mess.

    It's a must make.

Whether you're hosting a game day party or just need an easy weeknight win, these buffalo chicken sliders bring the heat (and the flavor) with almost no effort:

    • Easy hands-off cooking. Toss everything into the slow cooker and let it do the work.
    • Game day ready. Perfect for feeding a crowd or party platter.
    • Customizable toppings. Slaw, pickle chips, or blue cheese dressing? You choose.
    • Major flavor. Juicy shredded chicken meets tangy buffalo sauce and creamy cheese.

    What you'll need.

Ingredients needed for making buffalo chicken sliders slow cooker recipes on a white board.

Here are the ingredients you will need to make this buffalo chicken sliders slow cooker recipe:

    • Boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs: use either one-thighs give you juicier results, while breasts keep it lean.
    • Buffalo wing sauce: this is the base of that classic Buffalo flavor. You can also use Frank's Red Hot Original sauce.
    • Unsalted butter: helps mellow the heat and adds richness. Using melted butter to brush rolls helps the slider tops get golden if you finish them in the oven.
    • Dry ranch seasoning mix: brings in a cool, herby flavor that pairs perfectly with the buffalo sauce.
    • Brown sugar: adds a touch of sweetness.
    • Apple cider vinegar: just a splash brightens everything up.
    • Slider rolls (Hawaiian-style or dinner rolls): soft and pillowy-perfect for holding all that saucy chicken.
    • Provolone or Monterey Jack cheese (optional): adds melty creaminess if you want to take it up a notch.
    • Optional for serving: hot sauce, ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing, pickle chips, shredded lettuce, or a celery slaw.

For exact ingredient quantities, please see the recipe card below!

    Customize it your own way.

There's no wrong way to enjoy these slow cooker buffalo chicken sliders-so have fun with it and make them your own:

    • Try pepper jack instead of provolone for a little spicy kick.
    • Drizzle in a bit of honey after shredding the chicken for a sweet and spicy combo.
    • Use mini brioche buns in place of regular rolls for a buttery, bakery-style bite.
    • Add some crumbled blue cheese just before serving for an extra tang and richness.
    • Replace the ranch seasoning with taco seasoning for a fun Tex-Mex twist.
    • Sprinkle in chopped green onions for a pop of color and crunch.
    • Go bun-less and wrap the shredded chicken in lettuce for a lighter option.
    • Mix in some crispy cooked bacon for a smoky, salty flavor boost.
    • Use ghee or plant-based butter if you're avoiding dairy.
    • Stir in a few ounces of cream cheese to turn it into a creamy, dip-style filling.
