Blueberry Steel Cut Oatmeal Crockpot Ingredients
Here are the ingredients you will need to make low cooker steel cut oats with blueberries:
- Steel Cut Oats: these are the inner kernels of whole oats. They are nutty in flavor, have a chewier texture, and are high in fiber, low in fat, and have great nutritional value!
- Water
- Salt
- Cinnamon: add as much or as little as you like!
- Butter: unsalted butter is best to control how salty you want your oats.
- Brown Sugar: use regular brown sugar or a brown sugar substitute.
- Vanilla Extract: you can omit it if desired or use a different flavored extract.
- Walnuts: use chopped walnuts, pecans, almonds.
- Fresh Blueberries: you can also use frozen or dried blueberries or other fresh fruits.
- Half and Half: substitute with creamy oat milk to make it dairy-free.
- Optional: dried cranberries or any other dried fruits can be used.
