Once you know how your crock pot runs (hotter or cooler), you can adjust as needed. For meats and proteins, always use a thermometer to check doneness—the internal temperature is the most accurate way to know when it’s ready.TOP TIPS: Use an instant read thermometer to determine doneness. Remove from the oven when it reaches 160 degrees in its center. Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes. The temperature will continue to rise to the safe temperature of 165 degrees.SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Serve sliced with gravy. Pairs well with mashed potatoes, stuffing, and green beans.
