This crockpot apple crisp is a delicious and easy slow cooker dessert combining tart apples with a sweet buttery oat and almond topping - so delicious!
6cupsgranny smith apples(peeled, cored, and sliced into ½" wedges)
¾cupsugar
4teaspoonsinstant tapioca
1tablespoonlemon juice
¾teaspoonground cinnamon
½teaspoonground nutmeg
Crisp Topping
1cupregular oats
2tablespoonsall-purpose flour
1cupsliced almonds
¼cupfirmly packed brown sugar
¼teaspoonground ginger
½cupmelted butter
for serving: whipped cream or ice cream
Instructions
Grease a 6-quart crockpot with cooking spray. Place apples in the bottom of the slow cooker. Add sugar, tapioca, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir to combine.
In a medium bowl stir together the remaining ingredients. Spoon the mixture over the apples.
Cover and cook on High 3 to 4 hours or until the apples are tender.

VARIATIONS: Make apple and pear crisp and substitute 2 cups of semi-firm pears (peeled and cored) cut into wedges.
