Notes

For more helpful hints, substitution ideas, slow cooking tips, and other delicious recipe ideas, check out my post above.
TIPS: Use a cranberry juice you like on its own since it sets the flavor. Heat until steaming, not boiling, so it stays bright and fresh tasting. Every slow cooker runs differently, so check it the first time and adjust the cook time as needed. If the punch is too tart for your taste add a little honey or sugar.
VARIATIONS: Add apple cider or pomegranate juice for extra fruit flavor, or a few cloves or star anise for more spice. For an adult version, stir in rum, bourbon, brandy, or red wine after it is hot and the slow cooker is set to warm, or spike individual mugs.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Serve on warm setting with a ladle so guests can help themselves. Garnish mugs with orange slices, fresh cranberries, and a cinnamon stick. Great for Christmas Eve, holiday parties, or Christmas morning brunch.
