Once you know how your crock pot runs (hotter or cooler), you can adjust as needed. TIPS: Use freshly shredded block cheese for the best melt, and don’t skip the cornstarch — it helps stabilize the cheese while absorbing excess bacon grease. Make sure the cream cheese is softened so it blends smoothly into the dip.VARIATIONS: Make it spicy with diced jalapeños, cayenne, or pepper jack cheese. For a subtle Southern twist, stir in 1 to 2 teaspoons of bourbon or whiskey for extra warmth and depth. A pinch of smoked paprika or a handful of sliced green onions also adds great flavor.SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Serve warm with crackers, fresh bread, or spread over crispy toasted slices of French bread. Keep the dip on WARM in the crockpot so it stays creamy for easy entertaining.
