Sweet, citrusy, and gently tangy with a hint of warm spice, this cranberry orange ham in crockpot turns a bone-in spiral-sliced hickory-smoked ham into a glossy, slice-ready centerpiece with almost no effort.
8 to 10 poundsfully cooked bone-in ham, spiral-sliced and hickory-smoked (be sure to buy a ham that will fit in your crockpot!)
14ouncecan whole-berry cranberry sauce
½cuporange juice
2tablespoonsorange zest
½cuppacked brown sugar
2tablespoonsDijon mustard
1tablespoonapple cider vinegar
¼teaspoonground cinnamon
¼teaspoonred pepper flakes(adjust to taste)
Instructions
In a medium bowl, whisk together cranberry sauce, orange juice, orange zest, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, and red pepper flakes until smooth.
Place the spiral ham slices up, in the slow cooker. Gently separate a few slices and pour some of the glaze inside, then pour the remaining glaze over the top.
Cover and cook on LOW for 3 to 6 hours, basting occasionally until heated through. Do not overheat. The ham should be heated through and very tender, with the glaze coating every slice.
Lift ham to a platter. For a thicker glaze, simmer the juices from the slow cooker in a small saucepan for 5 minutes, then spoon over the ham before serving.

For more helpful hints, substitution ideas, slow cooking tips, and other delicious recipe ideas, check out my post above.CROCKPOT COOKING TIPS: Every slow cooker heats a little differently, so cooking times can vary. Once you know how your crock pot runs (hotter or cooler), you can adjust as needed. Start checking the temperature after 2 hours — hams vary by brand and size, and crockpots can vary in temperature. For best results, use a thermometer and only heat to the recommended temperature on the ham package. If the ham is done early. Turn it to warm and cover until you're ready to serve. TIPS: Use a bone-in spiral ham for maximum flavor and easy serving. If the ham is closer to 8 pounds, start checking early. VARIATIONS: Add a pinch of ginger or cloves for more holiday spice. Swap orange juice for pineapple juice for a sweeter glaze. Add extra red pepper flakes for a slight kick.SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a light salad. Leftovers are perfect for sandwiches, sliders, omelets, or adding to soups the next day.
